For months our community development team has been building a school for the Congo Town community (just outside of Monrovia). In July had spent a day painting the building. Today the school was opened. I was privileged to attend the opening ceremony. Before, the children had been attending school in a small, dirt floored stick room. As many as 50 children would pile into the room each day. Some of the students are ex-combatants who fought in Liberia's civil war.
The new building has eight classrooms, cement floors, and room for growth. It's beautiful.
Way to go CDS.
